Xu Zhang, PhD

POSTDOC

Dr. Zhang completed his PhD in Biomedical Engineering with Dr. Sabato Santaniello at the University of Connecticut, where he was trained as a computational neuroscientist and developed multi-scale models to explore the potential mechanisms of essential tremor and cerebellar neuromodulation.

At the Farrell lab, he is making a transition to combining computational and experimental approaches to study the mechanisms underlying focused ultrasound neuromodulation. With this noninvasive stimulation modality, he aims to develop closed-loop, cell type-specific, precision network control of neural dynamics such as epilepsy.

He enjoys playing the piano and biking in his spare time.
