Dennis Kalloor
Harvard PiN PhD Student
Dennis is a graduate student in the Harvard Program in Neuroscience. He completed his B.S. in Biology at Northeastern University. Previously, he studied the neural mechanisms underlying stress-induced infertility.
In the Farrell Lab, Dennis is interested in how hypothalamic circuits interface with the hippocampus to regulate behavioral state switching. His current research focuses on the role of the supramammillary nucleus (SuM) in modulating locomotion and influencing dentate spike generation in the hippocampus. He uses a combination of in vivo electrophysiology, calcium imaging, optogenetics, and circuit-mapping approaches to investigate how SuM dynamics coordinate with hippocampal activity across behavioral states.
